Unable to add comic by comicvine id

Hello,

I am trying to search for the following comic in Mylar: https://comicvine.gamespot.com/dc-comic ... 00-703085/ by using its name DC Comics Ultimate Character Guide. I get one result (3 issues), but not the one I am looking for (single issue). I then tried to add the comic by using its comicvine id 4000-703085 but it is unable to do so. Log level is set to 2 but the log is not really showing why it is unsuccessful.

I tried searching the forum for a solution but did not find one. Can somebody tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi McRam,

You can't add just an individual book. The cv-id you posted is for the 3rd book only. If you click the title at the top of that page it takes you to the main page and the cv-id is 4050-117578

That will add the series. Then you can add the book you have but Mylar will also be wanting to find the other 2 unless you set them to skip. But since they both show 'no date', it could be tricky for Mylar to find.

Hello. Thanks for your answer. I did not see that the book is part of a series. Still new to all of this and much to learn over here. Does the 4000- in the id mean it is an individual issue from a series and 4050-xxxxx is always a series (one or multiple issues)? Sorry for being ignorant.

I've never paid attention to that. It seems like it might be just by checking out a few series and GN I have in my collection.

4050-xxxxx is the id for a volume (or if you prefer series) - and yes, that has never changed. The volume could be for one issue, or several issues.
4000-xxxxx is the id for a specific individual issue.
