MAM via torznab

Post by Telecart »

anyone had any success using Torznab with private trackers? It can't seem to find anything, including things I know are there; the search includes a number for the issue number, but it doesn't look like that passes along well, since it always returns blank with a number, and all the results without... Any way to get the search to initially search the series name and then select the download based on the closer match with number?

If it's returning blank then odds are the file on MAM doesn't match up exactly to what Mylar is requesting.

The problem with MAM is that the majority of stuff on the site is apparently in packs with some weird naming conventions that Mylar doesn't know how to parse.

The results don't come thru via torznab, as the packs don't contain the individual issue numbering - and then they get ignored probably due to the invalid formats that Mylar isn't prepared in handling.

At the moment, DDl is the only provider that Mylar will work with for pack downloads (now that 32P isn't around). In order to handle other sites, the parser has to be adjusted to accommodate the new format naming of packs and obviously that's going to be based on site (since most torrent sites have different naming conventions). There's also the fact that some of the names 'SuperheroName Pack 06/35 - 1991-2000 (CBR)' as an example, would not get picked up in a match since it doesn't indicate what is within the pack.

It would be a pretty big undertaking to get mylar to work with those naming conventions without breaking the existing parser with other formats - maybe when things calm down in the new year and we can get caught up on some of the outstanding issues we can look at improving pack detection with various torrent providers.

Thanks evilhero. Yeah it's not picking up even things outside of packs because it looks like MAM search doesn't handle numbers properly; as soon as Mylar passes an issue number it finds nothing (even if it exists). Annoying, but something to take up with them presumably.
