Comicvine/Mylar information mismatch, and issues with new comics.

Hi,

I set up Mylar3 over the weekend and after some initial hurdles it's been working great for me. Today is the first Wednesday since I started using Comicvine, so I figured it would be a good test to make sure I have all my search/snatch settings configured properly. Everything worked as expected for a few comics, but I'm getting some strange behavior from others.

I have a comic on my list that Mylar lists as having seven issues (all of which are downloaded):

However, when you go to the ComicVine page, it lists it as having 8 (8 being the most recent issue that just came out today):

Mylar3 didn't snatch the new issue, and I'm assuming it is because Mylar doesn't know it exists. Does anyone know what I can do to rectify this?

I'm also having some issues with some other comics, but I'm not sure if they're related or not.

I have two comics with issues that come out today listed as wanted in the "Upcoming Issues" section of Mylar:

I've done some rudimentary searching and AFAICT these comics are available to snatch. When I go to the "Manage Comics" page, they don't appear, and Mylar3 seems to think that both issues are completely intact with nothing missing:

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to fix this?

Unfortunately there's nothing you can really do but wait it out at this point, and I'll explain why.

Mylar gets it's comic information from ComicVine. ComicVine has recently (well ok, maybe since the past year) been lagging abit in updating their side with new issues. So what this means is that every Wednesday new comics come out - but ComicVine doesn't update their information to reflect the new information until Thursday or sometimes even Friday (possibly later for non-major publishers).

Because Mylar has to have the relevant information in order to be able to download & post-process items properly, it knows enough to know that there's supposed to be an issue out - but there's no information available as of yet for it to start searching for.

The issues in the 'This Week Upcoming' portion that you pasted basically is saying these comics are due out, but there's no information on CV as of yet for me to verify. So these particular issues listed will not be added to the Wanted list, and thereby will not be searched for until they are.

Mylar updates the weekly pull roughly every 4 hours (there's a timestamp at the bottom of the Weekly page listing when the last update was). This pull update will go to the backend site (a CV amalgamator site - we abbreviate it as WS for WalkSoftly), and pull down the latest details every 4 hours. When CV updates something on their end, WS is made aware of it and populates itself with the relevant information. Then when the clients go to poll WS they get the new listing with the new information. Your client sees that some new information is available, and just to be sure it does an auto-refresh of those particular series that is supposed to have new information. Once it pulls down the new information properly, those issues are marked as Wanted, moved out of the 'This Week Upcoming' portion since the information is now available, and Mylar can begin searching for said issues.

Note that you can also manually get Mylar to poll WS by using the ReCreate Pulllist option from the Weekly tab.

I've had something I've been working on since we migrated to Mylar3 - but it's not ready for the dance just yet. What the concept is, is that it will allow Mylar to download issues that it knows should be out, even though CV has no information present. These files will appear in a Downloaded status (or something similar) to indicate that it's downloaded but some things still have to complete for it to be considered completed. Mylar will then put these files / issues in a "staging queue" so to speak - whereby once CV information is available it will then release the given items from the queue that have updated information and perform the relevant metatagging, etc that can only be done when the info is available (hard to metatag when there's no data available). I have it all working aside from the staging queue aspect firing off properly - once I can work that out it'll be available for everyone to use.
