is it worth trying to 'upgrade' cherrypy by re-running the requirements.txt file?
or should I just go for a fresh install?

OMG!!!!!

requirements.txt was missing from the original upgrade I guess, but I recreated it and ran it successfully.
Everything is looking much better.
Thanks for sticking it out with me and my crap install.
