Synology Reverse Proxy Issues

Post by mrsolitonwave »

I was wondering if anyone has run into this issue before. I am having trouble getting Mylar to work with Reverse Proxy on a Synology NAS. I saw a similar thread here viewtopic.php?t=1964 but unfortunately it did not have answers to my issues.

Problem: Anytime I try to reverse proxy into Mylar, I am prompted with an Authentication popup (neither my synology nor my Mylar usernames and passwords work). I can access Mylar however directly through localipaddress:8090. Mylar was installed through Docker. I have successfully setup reverse proxies for Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr without issues (also installed through docker).

I have been following the guide here: Reverse proxy guide: https://www.grahamleggat.com/blog/2017/ ... oxy-server

1. Create a new DNS CNAME from my host
2. Create a Lets Encrypt Certificate with that new domain
3. Create a Reverse Proxy in the Application portal in the Synology DSM software. I use HTTPS, point towards the domain name, use port 443, then forward to localhost:port using HTTP
4. I associate the letsencrypt cert with the reverse proxy i just created.

But every time I try to navigate to the new site: https://mylar.mydomain.com/mylar, I immediately get a prompt to sign in. Im expecting it instead to take me to a forms login page. I cant understand why this works for Sonarr and Radarr but not Mylar. What am i doing wrong? Any ideas?

My router is appropriately forwarding port 443 to my synology. Mylar and NZBhydra are docker apps. Hostname within Mylar is set to 0.0.0.0. I modified the config.ini file to have "http_root = /mylar".

Has anyone been able to setup reverse proxy using Synology's DSM software and have it work with Mylar?
