ComicTagger: option to save "StoryArc" in "Alternate Series" field instead

Post by senorsmartypants »

ComicRack supports StoryArc and AlternateSeries fields. ComicTagger saves Story Arc from CV in the StoryArc field, But the CV scraper in CR saves it in AlternateSeries.

Please add the option to save StoryArc into the AlternateSeries field. This will help keep my collection consistent between what did the scraping.

Thanks.

It's probably not something that will happen easily tbh.

From my understanding, StoryArc stuff belongs with StoryArc stuff, saving it into the AlternateSeries field wouldn't make much sense as it's not an AlternateSeries, but part of an actual Arc (I get what it's doing, but really the naming is muckered up).

That being said, I have absolutely no clue what is normally contained in the StoryArc field, let alone the AlternateSeries field. We could have a config option to allow for some custom fields, but again the data has to come from somewhere, and the CT field manipulation stuff I generally don't fool around with too much as 'what works for one, will not work for someone else' kinda deal.

CV makes no distinction between Story Arcs and Alternate Series. They only have one field of "Story Arc" that seems to get used for both.

I take Story Arcs to be within on comic title and Alternate Series to be cross over stuff (and CV supports a alternate series # so you can order things).

But I understand not everyone will do things the same way.

Where would I find info on CT field manipulation you mention? Is this user configurable or more code hacking level?
