casting exception for decimal issues

I ran across an exception, not sure if its a non-issue and handled already but wanted to post and let you know.

Yep, cause it's trying to get an un-padded numeric to search against - I recall this occurred, but I guess I never fixed it. I'll see if I can get this out into development soon-ish...
