Protip: Tutorial. Use "Manage Comics" to Track Continuity!

Post by AtariBaby »

If you're like me, and find yourself confused by comic continuity, here's a hidden feature of Mylar that can help you keep it straight.

For example, you might be reading "Avengers" & "New Avengers" and realize that the Hulk has undergone a major character change. So you pick up the ongoing title "Hulk (2014)", which starts with another unexplained character change, and then mysteriously features another character change in issue #5, with no explanation. Turns out you had to read "Indestructible Hulk" before issue #1, and then you needed to read "Original Sin" and the spinoff miniseries featuring Hulk and Iron Man! With no month and year on the cover, and no editor's footnotes, you might be lost for quite a while.

Not anymore. In Mylar, click on the "Manage" tab, then the "Manage Issues" button, then sort your comics by "Pub Date". Now you have your library sorted in chronological publishing order, and you can read your comics in approximate correct order! This will help you when you're reading Avengers and suddenly discover that the guy you used to call "Thor" is now known as "Odinson".

You're welcome!
