Doing a raw usenet search with binsearch.info also?

Post by Warborg »

Is it possible to also have it search using binsearch.info along with the indexers such as SU and Dog? The indexers are good, but sometimes I manage to find stuff through binsearch that I can't otherwise. Or maybe the direct usenet articles themselves?

If you enable the 'Experimental Search' option within Mylar, it uses nzbindex to search against.

From when I looked at binsearch, it would be abit different to get it working with Mylar simply because I'd have to parse every single page returned - whereas with nzbindex, it returns an xml in the format of an rss feed, so it's alot easier to work with.

I'm not saying no - if I get some time I can look into it, but it's probably not to be expected for awhile if I can do it. If someone else were to code the parsing part for binsearch, I'd have an easier time to implement it obviously ;)

Ok, thank you... I was just curious, I'll keep plunking away at setting it up with it's current capabilities... :)
